Wedding Songs

Here’s a song that I’ve heard in all sorts of places. It used to be a staple of Roman Catholic middle-class wedding receptions in the late 80s. It’s been featured in Malayalam movies, usually in the background for a decadent villain’s drug den or a bourgeoisie college hero’s room. It’s also played in the background when the narrative shifts to a foreign location.

I came across this song - Call Me by Blondie - hidden behind a mask of background noise and tape detereoration on my uncle’s marriage video.
